Wanted to Share this...
Hi Teachers!!! I attended my grad school orientation last week and I wanted to share something from it with each of you that I left with.
The director of this program is 67 years old and has taught for many years. She is so passionate about teaching and just can't seem to find it in her to retire. I am grateful that she hasn't retired because the program is still running because of her. She showed us a slideshow at the end of orientation and it inspired me so much and reminded me of why I am making this career change.
It was called "Somewhere Out There". She had a poster on her bulletin board and it read "Somewhere Out There...." She asked her 5th graders to finish the sentence and the things these kids wrote really touched my heart.
Some of the things they wrote included: - a land where no one feels lonely - a place where everyone is loved - people who need good teachers - soldiers are dying at war - people are crying because someone hurt them - there is a place where no hw is a rule
There were so many more but it really touched me and I wanted to share that with each of you!
I hope you all know how much of a difference you make and while you may not realize it you change a life every single day you stand in front of your students and teach! I take my hat off to each of you for being teachers and I look forward to being one too!
