Re: Wanting to TTC when DH is not quite ready...
I know for me i was ready before DH, we got married when we were 28 and said we would start when we were 30. But after being married a year I wanted to start TTC but he wasn't ready yet so we discussed it and we comprimised and said we would start 6 months earlier(this september). Just sit down and discuss it and see how each other feels, i never thought my DH would be ready and it totally surprsed me when he said we could start TTC earlier, i know six months isn't that much of a big deal but it helps.

I am having the same thoughts. My DH is 35 and never thought of having kids until we were married. I'm torn between going back to grad school or TTC. I don't know, but I know he wants to wait another year. We just got married, so I don't know what to do!

Re: Wanting to TTC when DH is not quite ready...
I think it is very natural for DH's to be frightened. It is a lifelong commitment and responsibility and for many men (and women), a real reason to finally"GROW UP". Children have a dependency that far surpasses that of a spouse and once a child is born, there is no turning back. Some men can handle it while others need more time. There is no question that DH is slightly freaked out about TTC. I am too. I just dont have time on my side in regard to my age which is the main reason why we are starting now. However, if DH was adamant about not starting now, we wouldnt. That wouldnt make our marriage easy.

I have the opposite problem, My DH wants to conceive so badly, he will be a GREAT dad. I am a little more nervous that I will not be a good mom.
