Warming Bottles?
Is it necessary to warm bottles before giving them to a newborn...i've been doing it but on occassion i have given DS an unwarmed bottle and he is totally fine with it...It would be a lot better if i didn't have to warm them, but of course if it isn't good for my DS i wouldn't do that.
Anyone know?

Re: Warming Bottles?
you can give it to them cold...
there was a theory that the cold bottle might upset their stomachs but there a was recent change to that theory...

Re: Warming Bottles?
I was always told to warm the bottles as it can give the baby a tummy ache. I found this to be true with DD. As long as it's room temp. then it should be fine.

Re: Warming Bottles?
TBH if your dc will take them without warming be it cold or room temp. Keep it that way!
So much easier. my dd would spit up if I gave her anything but a warm bottle. We were able to stop at about 6 months.
I think it depends on the child but my sister gave her ds breast milk & formula out of the fridge cold and he never had a problem.

Re: Warming Bottles?
I never warmed either of my kids' bottles and neither of them had stomach problems. They took them cold or room temp. I honestly didn't want the hassle of heating and when they both switched to whole milk, I didn't want to have to heat the milk in order for them to drink it.

Re: Warming Bottles?
i've never heated a bottle for DS. We buy Nursery Water, leave it on the counter so it's room temp, fill the bottles with water for the day, add formula-powder when ready --- shake and serve!
it's never been a problem. and now that it's summer, i think it's better that he doesn't need it warm. yuck!

Re: Warming Bottles?
I started out warming them, but early on, during one 3 am feeding, I was exhausted and couldn't listen to him crying one more minute, so I just popped it in his mouth straight from the fridge. He ate it and every cold bottle after that, and I never warmed another bottle again.
I didn't notice any difference in spitting up between a cold bottle and a warm one - he spit up a little after both.

Re: Warming Bottles?
When i bfed and used the pumped milk from fridge that was the only time i warmed it up. Once she went to formula, i stopped warming it up. She was fine with it being room temp.

Re: Warming Bottles?
I have a 2 week old and I'm feeding her straight from the fridge or room temp. This is my 3rd baby and I never gave the last 2 cold formula, they were born in October. I just feel its so hot out that it makes her feel so much better. I havent noticed any tummy aches.

i have never warmed a bottle. I have always given them at room temp qith bottled water.
I think if your DS is drinking them unwarmed then give it to him
