Warning, I am venting
And I really don't care who flames me...b/c this is about me and my situation ONLY!!
I am SICK and TIRED of being treated like a second class citizen in MY own family b/c I don't have kids. I am SICK and TIRED of being told one thing, making my plans accordingly, and then b/c a certain parent in my family can never get their act together, gets some other family members to change the original plans to bow down to them b/c "they have kids" and have to work around them! So now, b/c I was proactive and made my travel plans like a normal person, not at the last minute, I am being left alone in another state for an extra night. NICE, freakin' Nice!!

Thanks guys! I think I literally had steam coming out of my head earlier tonight.
Sure, you can come join me, I'm sure there's lots to do on a Thursday night in Old Saybrook, CT. 
Oh well, on the upside, I still don't have to work fri and I think I'll sleep in...since I don't have kids to wake me up early!

I totally feel you, vent away!!!! I was glad it wasn't plane tickets that you had to pay $100 per seat to re book!!!

I'm sorry they did that to you. I would be super angry as well. I don't think it necessarily has to do with the kids. Sounds like these people are just being flat out inconsiderate. So not right.

lol sorry since this subject was posted I keep thinking about how ridiculous it is that people have to actually post a warning to let others know its a vent.
People are way to sensative around here lately.
ps....this is not a dig at anyone's response Just a simple observation

We have that in my family all the time. My FSIL and others with kids are completely catered to, meanwhile we might have something going on that is just as important and it doesn't matter at all.
I think it's a whole thing in our society though. Its increasingly focused on children and their needs or perceived needs coming before all others.

i can totally relate... sometimes i feel like other people in my family get catered to when plans are being made, like their attendance is more of a concern, bc they have kids and i don't. it's a crappy feeling and i'm sorry you have to deal with it
