* AT 328 PM EDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED FLASH FLOODING FROM HEAVY RAIN MOVING INTO NORTHERN NASSAU AND WESTERN COUNTIES. RAINFALL RATES OVER 1 INCH PER HOUR HAVE ALREADY FALLEN OVER THE AREA...AND SEVERAL POCKETS OF HEAVY RAIN WITH RAINFALL RATES OVER 1 INCH PER HOUR WILL MOVE ACROSS THE AREA THROUGH THE EVENING COMMUTE.

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CAUSE FLOODING OF SMALL CREEKS AND STREAMS...URBAN AREAS...HIGHWAYS... STREETS AND UNDERPASSES AS WELL AS OTHER DRAINAGE AREAS AND LOW LYING SPOTS.
