Was anyone afraid to venture too far from home towards the end of their pregnancy?

I have so many places I want to go and people I want to see but I keep freaking myself out thinking "what if?" I'm only 32 weeks so I guess I shouldn't be too paranoid yet right?

i don't really have any issues going to far from home, but at even the mention of it DH freaks out. i know what you mean. I am spending the day in the city in 2 weeks and DH is upset because i will be 8 months pregnant.

I was with my first but the second time I was in NJ the day before I went into labor and I was 2 days late. I was also 2 cm but I needed to work on the house and I knew that would move things along and it did. I figured that if I started having a contraction we would leave and be home in 1.5 hours.

I would go, but tell your doctor and see what he says, as long as everything is fine with you, you shouldn't have a problem going at 32 weeks.

At 32 weeks with both pg's i didn't mind, I traveled to NY from CT up until 36 weeks with both pg's.

After 36 weeks, i didn't travel more than 1 hour away from my hospital-only because I didn't want to give birth in a different hospital with a doc i didn't know.

I was too afraid the week before my due date. I stopped commuting to the city then and we declined DH's holiday party (also in the city).

I wasn't. DH was. I was 32 weeks & needed to drive up to Cape Cod for a wedding.

He called my parents & asked them to go with me. I told him not to be ridiculous. There are a ton of strangers that would help me if necessary.

They wound up going. It turned out to be a mini-vacation for them.

eta. that was the first labor. Since this is your second - which for me meant she was born 7 minutes after I got to the hospital - I would stick close to home.

At 32 weeks I went to CT for Thanksgiving. Once I stopped working at alost 39 weeks I stayed relatively close to home. I couldn't really walk too well so I really didn't have a choice.

Re: Was anyone afraid to venture too far from home towards the end of their pregnancy?

I think I'll play it safe since I've been getting braxton hicks and awful back pain here and there for weeks now. I'll reevaluate at my internal in two weeks.

My job actually wanted me to go to a conference upstate two days before my maternity leave startedChat Icon NO THANK YOU!
