Was anyone ever a PG bridesmaid??
I am trying desperately to see what to do. I will be 7 months pregnant at my best friends wedding, and i'm the MOH. I would usually order a 10 and have it taken in (i'm an 8 typically). The dresses she chose are not maternity, it is a beautiful strapless bill levkoff with a sash.
I have no clue what size to order, and the lady at the store was no help really. They can put panels in the dress to add material if needed. do you think a 16 with panels sounds about right?? Anyone is this situation before?? Feedback would be so appreciated!!
Thank you!

Re: Was anyone ever a PG bridesmaid??
I haven't been a pregnant bridesmaid, but one of my friends just got married and she was about 6-7 months pregnant with twins. The store ordered her normal size dress but with the waist at something like 52". Maybe you could do that?

Re: Was anyone ever a PG bridesmaid??
HI - I was the MOH at my sister's wedding in November and I was alittle over 6 months. The dress wasn't maternity either - but the seamstress ordered a size 16 and then adjusted it when i went in for fittings.
The 16 worked great - its better to have extra material than a lack of material -
My sister's dress was mocha in color also - so the color worked well and camoflaged my belly wonderfully.
Good Luck - you will look great!

I was 3 months pregnant at my friend's wedding. I got fitted for the dress a week before the wedding.

Re: Was anyone ever a PG bridesmaid??
I am in my friends wedding in July 3, and I am due June 22. I ordered my dress the biggest it could go b/c alterations were capped off. Now I am just afraid I'll go late and not have time to alter the dress, or worse, go into labor at the wedding!

Re: Was anyone ever a PG bridesmaid??
I had 3 (that's right, 3) PG bridesmaids in my wedding party. 2 of them were about 4 months PG and they each ordered 1 or 2 sizes bigger and needed little altering. The other one was 8.5 MONTHS PG. She ordered 3 sizes bigger and had it altered. The alterations were a nightmare for the seamstress. The dress was an A-line, which I thought would nicely accommodate the PG ladies. I didn't really work that well for the one so far along. The top was way too big, and then it was hard for the seamstress to line up the seams going down the dress.
Since you are the MOH, could you get a different dress, same color but different style? I think an empire waist would be easier to deal with since they can adjust the top correctly, and then "hike up" the bottom at the empire seam to give you more room in the belly area.

Re: Was anyone ever a PG bridesmaid??
The women in the store are usually such a great help with this stuff. Ask them what the last possible date is to order your dress. Maybe if you can put if off a few more weeks it will help you better determine your size.

Re: Was anyone ever a PG bridesmaid??
I will be one (in 2 weddings) when I am about 5 months. One wedding she just wanted us to buy black dresses, so I'm soo happy abuot that. The second wedding, the dress was already ordered when I found out I was pregnant. Luckilly they always order dresses way too big for me (bc of my boob measurements) so the dress is so big that they should be able to just take it out they said. Good luck!

Re: Was anyone ever a PG bridesmaid??
One of my bridesmaids was 6 months pregnant at my wedding and was not pregnant were we ordered their dresses. She was able to switch dresses with my MOH who order a size bigger than she really needed. Also, the dress had a corset style back, allowing some leeway.
Maybe you should try consulting a tailor outside of the place you are getting the dresses.
We had all our dresses altered at Helen's Bridal in Hauppauge even though they weren't all purchased there and the seamstress, Toola, is amazing.
