was in a minor car accident.. long but please read need opinions
SO I am driving east bound on the BQE and it happened so fast i really dont know what happened but next thing you know i am crashing in to the car in front of me then being hit by two cars behind me.( we were both goign very slow bumper to bumper traffic) So i get out everyone is ok. My trunk is poppped open and the back bumper is off the front hood is poppped up and i am hysterical being i am 9 weeks preggo. So anyway by some chance a port authority cop happend to be on bike came driving up and was SOO SWEET wheni said i was pregnant. Told me everyting wil lbe fine so on and so on. I call my dh who works for NYPD but is an attorney not a cop. he leaves work immediately. So then the cops from the local precinct come and still no one is saying whose fault it was. The girl in the last car ( there were 4 i was number 2) says i just heard someone say you are preggo i feel so bad it was all my fault i looked back to talk to a pssenger in the back seat for a split second. so i guess it was a domino effect form back to front. Anyway thank god Allison was not woth me and after being checked out by ems they said i could either go to my dr or go to the hospital Being my dh was there by this point they said as a courtisytto him beingon NYPD i could go to any hospital i wanted to ( i live in douglaston so i wanted LIJ). Anyway i decided to get Allison and dropped her at my moms and then we went to the OB who was a little abrupt. I said i am sure everyting is ok but i just want to be able to sleep tonight. He says.."well did you go through the windsheild?" i am like "NO" ( thhinking obviously not idiot or else i wouldnt be here) so he says wll then its immpossible anyting is wrong from the accident. So we saw the baby on the sono and got a pic.
I am just so relieved to be home and getting redy for bed.My mom kept Allison overnight to give me break and she wtaches her on fridays anyway.
I guess the point of all this rambling is to just say how thankful i am we are both ok and to se what you thought about my drs comments.

I'm thankful you're ok too.
Not to worry, your baby is a bubble of water at this point & is well-protected from a crash.
I know it's easy to feel so vulnerable at this point.

thanks everyone. He is teh only dr out of 5 i am not crazy about. The reason i stay is becasue i love the staff the drs are wonderful especially the one delivered my first baby and i am not goin to leave bc of this JERK. Seriously i have never seen a bunch of nicer front desk staff they remeber my name and that i had a ten lbs baby etc..The other drs are soo kind and compassionate it unreal.... its just unfortunate he was on duty today when i went for my emergency appointment. He really pi$$ed me off i will do evertyting to avoid seeing him from now on. Thanks everyone.

That must have been so scary. I am glad to hear that you and baby are okay.
I'd be pizzed if my doc made a comment like that. As if you haven't been through enough today but then to have to feel as if you need to defend your worries. Crazy!

I am so sorry that you went through that. Thank God that you and the baby are okay.
I think that some doctors lose perspective of what their patients are going through - not all but some. The doctor that you saw sounds like one of those people. They understand far more than we do from a medical standpoint but forget that we don't...that lack of knowlege scares us. But maybe you can write it off to a bad day.
You did the right thing to have the baby checked. I would have wanted the same thing.

Doctors just dont think sometimes... Mothers instinct comes first, if you feel you should be checked then thats what you do... what if it was his wife, would he want to check her and his baby... BOOOOO on him...

I'm so glad you are okay...it's so nervewracking being in a car accident at all, let alone being pregnant. I'd be really upset and worried too so it is good you got checked out. I'm glad all is okay!

I had an accident when I was 7 months preggo with the twins - I was just as panicked and worried as you,
My doctor didn't even want me to come in - he said "those babies are so well protected in there you have no idea!" Call back if you start having contractions.
I was ****** but then realized - he was right.
However your doctor could have shown a little more sympathy to your obvious upsetment. Some doctors just have no bedside manner.
