Wasn't someone asking about the bootcamp in Bayside?

I found the info-

www.queensbootcamp.com
or
www.beckysfitnesscompany.com
it's a 6am

I want to go in the spring

I will be cutting it close- but maybe I can take the LIRR instead of the bus and save 15 minutes

I have attended the last three camps and I LOVE it! Becky is AWESOME! The last 2 camps have started at 5:45.

If you want to know more about it, FM me!

Yes, that was me and I found a card on it in the Bagel Club. I have it in my planner for the spring.

Scared...can you tell us more about it?

I just FM'd Beth so I am just going to copy and paste that FM here - I'm so lazy LOL!

It is $349. I think it's worth it as a "kickstart" to getting healthy. She also gives you a free nutrition seminar and she sends you an email every day with info and motivational quotes. Every week we hand in a food diary and she helps with advice etc.

I had a baby in August, so physically and mentally I have really enjoyed it. I know this sounds corny, but Becky is truly inspirational.

For the first camp, it was still warm, so we met in the hockey rink near the Cross is. The last 2 camps we have been meeting at the Samuel Field YMCA in little neck.

Basically she does "circuit work" that is a combo of cardio and weight training. Somedays we do kickboxing, others we have obstacle courses, some days are "killer arms" or "killer legs". We always have a "hike day" where we meet at fort totten and hike out along the Cross Is. It is not a leisurely walk. She is on you the whole time to move faster and make it out 2 miles in 1/2 hour so you can finish 4 miles before the hour is over. Sometimes we stop at the marina and do drills on the stairs and on the benches.

Friday is always testing day. We warm up by walking a mile, then we run a timed mile, then we do push-ups, and planks. She keeps track of our progress from week to week so we can see how we've improved.

It was really hard for me in the beginning because I was only 6 weeks post partum, but everyone goes at their own pace. Now I've increased my weights so even though I'm used to it, it is still challenging for me.

I see a real difference in my body. I HIGHLY recommend it. If you want, send me your email and I will forward you one of the newsletters she sends us so you can see the type of info she gives us.

She has 10 camps planned for 2008. I don't know the dates yet, but I know the first is Jan. 7. After that they are basically once a month.

Cool!!! Now, more questions... how long is each session? How many times a week do you meet? what time do they start? Just trying to plan ahead. Chat Icon
