water bill

we just got our first water bill, for the period of 9/27 through 10/17 and it was a water charge of $55 (not including the initiation fee). They came and did a reading on 9/27 but estimated the 10/17 reading. We haven't even moved in yet, but there are IGS.

This amount suprised me, I thought water was really cheap. Could they be estimating wrong? They estimated we used 22k gallons in less than a month.

My first bill was $43 and we did not live there yet either. I heard it was common for your first bill to be in that range.

Re: water bill

Our first bill was 55.50 for the first month. 30.00 of which was initial connection charge. We used 0 gallons but you pay in advance a set charge depending on the size of your water main and that basic charge includes a set amount of cubic feet of water or gallons.Chat Icon

I think this is what it is- an advanced payment. Will we ever see this pre-payment being applied throughout the service?

My first bill was something like $80 when we moved in the house. We never had another bill like that. I can't remember way but I remember asking the same thing was it our pond or the sprinklers.

I just remember being really Chat Icon Chat Icon at the first water bill and now they are like nothing.
