water sono today
I went to do a water sono today, and the doctor said my uterus either has a septum which is a dip in the top of my uterus or the fibroid at the top of the uterus is pushing into my uterine cavity. He is sending me for a MRI at Stony Brook.
He said surgery is a possibility if it is a fibroid. If it is a septum (my uterus didn't develop properly when I was conceived) then they can scrap it. but might end up hitting the fibroid and then end up with major surgery. He said if I leave it alone, I have a higher percentage of miscarriage. This bites. I already am dealing with my age of 44 and high FSH. I am getting ready to do an IVF cycle and now this.
From my understanding of fibroid or the septum, if the baby attaches to that section, there could be deprivation of blood supply and cause miscarriage.
Does anyone know if surgery isn't done and placenta attaches elsewhere from the fibroid, does this still give a higher risk of miscarriage? (not enough room, blood supply issues)
Funny thing, I just got out my HSG results from 1998 and no mention of this "dip" in my uterus so I don't think it is the septum thing. Also, I had a water sono in November at East Coast and doc there said everything with uterus looked good. I had the fibroid then. What gives? Could a fibroid have grown that much since November to create a "dip" I have been on estrogen and progesterone in the 2ww for the last 2 failed IUIs. Any input is appreciated.

Re: water sono today
I don't have much info on the uterus, but for high FSH, you should be doing shots of wheat grass to lower it!

Re: water sono today
I have done wheat grass for 3 months now, accupuncture, supplements so I do believe that it has lowered FSH. Lowering the FSH onlly allows me to be a candidate for IVF. It really doesn't mean that the ovarian reserve has improved.
I think I will move forward with the IVF and hope that the baby attaches away from the "dip" what ever it is from.
