Water Sonogram
I have mine on Thursday. Does it hurt? Will I be in pain afterwards?
My SIL, BIL and niece are moving to FL and we won't see them for awhile, the whole family is supposed to get together Thursday night before they leave, do you think I'll be up to it or will I be in a lot of pain?
TIA!

Re: Water Sonogram
I have had 2 ( one being only about 3 weeks ago)
It really didn't hurt me at all, actually less uncomfortable than a pap ...The most annoying part is the speculum ( isn't it always )...Its over in 2 minutes and I got right up and drove myself home and resumed my day...It was like getting an internal for me

Re: Water Sonogram
I just had one last Monday. For me it was painful, however, I have had a few surgeries to my cervix and my doctor says that my cervix is VERY sensitive...the painful part for me was that he had a hard time getting the catheter through my cervix b/c the opening is very narrow. Again, my situation is an exception, he did tell me that it is usually not so painful for others.
Also, as soon as it was done, I felt fine - so you should have no problem resuming your normal activities.

Re: Water Sonogram
Mine was not painful at all and it was very quick. If you are nervous about any pain you can always pop an advil before hand.
One word of advice - use a pad afterwards. They gave me one in the room, but for some stupid reason I decided I can wait til I get to the bathroom. Well, on my way to the bathroom it leaked all over my undies and I had to take them off and dry them under the hand dryer. Sooo embarrassing.

Re: Water Sonogram
I just had one recently and it was really painless. A little uncomfortable at first, but not bad at all. And I was very anxious because the HSG I had a year or so ago was one of the worst things I have ever done.
Good luck!
