Waving Good Bye

What age did you start teaching your child to wave goodbye and at what age did they start doing it?? I'm curious because I started teaching kara yesterday and she actually does it. She doesn't pick up her hand and do it but she keeps it dangling and does the bye bye motion. She will be 7 months on Friday

We started practicing around 7 months or so...just recently at 11 months she finally does it. She will open and close her hand. She does the flapping arms thing for everything...so it's hard to tell if she's doing bye-bye with the flapping arms.

It's so cute, because when she opens and closes her hand...she looks at it, like she can't believe she made her fingers do that

she started waving bye bye around 9 months or so. Never really taught her, she just picked up on it.

Now she says "bye bye" when she waves.
