WDW- Did you book through a travel agent?

Did you find it was cheaper to book through Disney or through a travel agent?

I have it both ways and kind of liked booking with the agent better. They handled everything and it was a cinch to make some changes plus we actually got a better deal - I want to say there was a $300-400 difference from Disney online and the travel agent.

I would not bother with a TA you can definitely do better without one IMO. I found I was able to do better on my last two trips on my own but I tried to have some TA's beat the prices.

Okay this is what I do:
Check out these sites they will be a big help:
Mousesavers.com
This site lists ALL the codes that are available for packages, hotels (on site and off) and car rentals.

Disboards This is a great posting board - as LIF is to us disboards is to disney trip planning - You will find photos of all the hotels, trip advice, advice for traveling with young children - everything you need you will find at this site.

http://www.allearsnet.com/
This site is great - it has the menus (with prices) for ALL food at WDW - including counter services, casual sit down and the top sit down restaurants at WDW. This way you can budget food to see if you want a meal food plan or not.

Hope this helps - let me know if you have more questions.

I was going to book our last trip myself but I ended up using themagicforless.com They were awsome and didn't cost me any more than it would have had I done it alone. They were SO informative and helpful w/ recommendations and stuff. I'd use them again.

We usually call WDW directly but have used AAA in the past. And I think Delta vacations many years ago.

Re: WDW- Did you book through a travel agent?

I don't think you really need an agent

I used one once, but it really made no difference at all.

I used themagicforless.com

the one cool thing is they keep checking for discounts and if one comes out, they automatically switch you. Basiucally I wanted someone to call every day for me to see when the AP discounts came out

Re: WDW- Did you book through a travel agent?

We went with a convention so the hotel was chosen for us.
I think travel agents are a scam for WDW. We booked JetBlue for $99 pp each way and took a taxi to and from WDW.
