We all know what Thursday is....
Food dye. Check.
Hair dye. Check.
Nail polish. Check.
Fake tattoos. Check.
T-shirts. Check.
Bubble wrap. Check.
Streamers. Check.
Stickers on for the windows. Check.
Socks. Check.
Wigs for DH & I. Check.
Buttons. Check.
Chocolate coins. Check.
Cookie cutters. Check.
Picking up half green/half white cookies tomorrow.
Am I missing anything?
I love this holiday. I'm still confused as to why they constantly question Santa Claus but don't even wonder if leprechauns are real....

this year DH will get the full effect. He's not usually around when they wake up but he's off on furlough. He already thinks I'm completely nuts for doing it & doesn't agree with my made up holidays (not St. Pat's, he means No Manners Day, etc).
The kids are already walking around angry that he won't let them make the traps the way they want.
So far they've asked for
(1) laser beams
(2) to put glue on the floor
(3) to put flour on the floor so we can see exactly how big he is & make a trap for the next year based on his size (guess which kid that is...)

At the library, DS had a cookie decorating activity. When he came out with his cookies, I asked him why it looked like frowning faces on the clovers.... 
He said they were sad because they were only 3 leaf clovers, and not 4 leaf clovers.....
Ahh... the minds of 7 year olds....

I saw green tinsel like "curtains" to hang in a doorway in the Party City flyer this weekend, and I immediately thought of you!

Barb- I just want to say that I "copied" you a bit!
Your catching the leprechaun posts always made me so happy. I'm Jewish and DH is Irish- but last year I'm the one who has started the tradition....
we put shamrock stamps on their hands while sleeping.
we put green food coloring on our dogs.
we sprinkled the floor with green and gold glitter.
we hung DH's underwear from the fan, took out food from the pantry and piled it all over the living room to see what tricks the leprechauns played.
we left gold wrapped chocolate from them for the kids....
Now DS just turned four and he is planning a "trap" for tonight. DD is 2 and is excited to "see" them. 
DH loves that I started this and I told him you were the one who inspired me-

I have to admit, I have copied your idea for the past 2 years as well. My 6 and 3 year old are so excited for tommorow. We have done the green nail polish and tatoos when they are sleeping, food coloring, mess in the house, chocolate coins.....this year I am adding silly string, green ballons all over, and maybe a bit of hair dye......still thinking of other last minute ideas!
I have to say I was worried about my DD going to school and the other kids thinking she was crazy, but last year her K class was in awe of the leprachian story and her teacher actually commented how awesome the kids thought it was! LOL

Every year I wonder when they'll stop . I think this is it for Joseph. He is 9 & really wants to believe in it. Actually because of how his teacher is, I'm wondering if she's going to tease him & blow it.

Bab, I take it that Operation Leprechaun is in full effect? Mission successful?
We set a trap in my classroom; had the leprechaun write a rhyming note to them, leave chocolate gold coins, left glitter on the floor and shamrock glitter and left tiny green footprints on the window. Can't wait to see their reaction tomorrow!

Ok, since I'm not Irish, I didn't go all out, but I did leave a few little things for DD because I think this is just so fun
Backpack is hanging from the ceiling fan. Coat is in the fridge. I left a chair with a little present in the middle of her room. The present is a little strawberry shortcake metal box and I put a green t-shirt she can wear to school tomorrow and a bunch of gold coins.
When I told her about the leprechaun causing mischief...she told me he was going to get a time out for being bad
