We are buying a platform bed...Now I ask..
this may sound dumb but how do I buy a mattress. This is the first new bed I have bought in 10yrs and I don't want to walk into a store and get ripped off because I don't know what I am looking for.

I have no earthly idea but I have my eye on this $700 King mattress from Overstock...
It has a great rating and 680 people recommend it... It's memory foam.

I figure with that many great reviews it has to be decent.. And for $700?? I'm going to try it..

Just go in and lay on a bunch of mattresses. You just haggle with the salesperson if you don't want to pay as much as they are asking. We have a platform bed and did this.

just wanted to let you know there's a 1-800 mattress warehouse in Long Island City. We got our complete set (mattress, box spring and frame--extra firm with pillowtop) for less than $700!! You can lay on them and see which is the most comfortable.

we have a platform bed...
you dont need a boxspring... so you just have to find a mattress that fits the size of the bed!
we got a pillowtop mattress from Sleepy's.. !!
