We are dormering our house!
I wanted to make sure that the paperwork went through before I posted, but we are dormering our cape and I am SO EXCITED!!!
We met with the architect and the builder and we've seen the plans - I will try to scan them in and post them later - so we just need to file the paperwork with the county and they can start working!
We have 2 bedrooms and a bathroom on our second floor right now. When they are done, there will be two bedrooms, a bathroom and a HUGE master suite with its own bathroom.
The only thing I am worried about is that the two bedrooms will be pretty "average" - 12X12 - but other than that I AM THRILLED!!!

Do you have a dormer up there at all now? Is this a full dormer you are adding on? Do you mind me asking what the range in price is, you can FM me.
We have a 1/2 dormer in the back, but would eventually like to do a full dormer.

I can't wait to see the plans!! We're hoping to dormer w/in 2 years (if we don't move), but I wanted to make 4 BRs & 2 baths upstairs. Do you have a garage you're building over? 12x12 is a nice size room. How big will your master suite be?

I don't have a dormer now, and this will be a full dormer. We are also having insulation blown into the first floor, the house entirely re-sided, and new electrical run.
We aren't having them finish the bathrooms right now - they are doing the "rough plumbing" which means the bathrooms will be ready for us to add the bath, toilet, etc...
We want to take time, save money and really do the bathrooms right and we don't have the kind of money it would take to do that right now.
I have a pic of what the outside will look like after it's done, but I don't have the plans scanned yet.
PS - we aren't building over the garage. We want it as storage space.
