We are getting a new washer and dryer! Need recommendations...
Yippee! We are going to get a new washer and dryer! The ones we have now are old (they came with the house.) So now I was hoping to get some recommendations on what to get and why... DH likes the LGs. But I am clueless! Any help would be appreciated. TIA

Re: We are getting a new washer and dryer! Need recommendations...
My parents just replaced a washer and dryer that were really not that old. They had an independent repair man come in to try to fix them and he said the washer was shot (less than 10 years old).
He recommended Whirlpool and only Whirlpool. He told my Mom it was money well spent and that their the best on the market.

We purchased the Whirlpool Cabrio set - it's energy efficient/STAR, but a top loader. One of the few available.
I love them!
If you run a search on w/d recommendations, you'll get a ton of threads and people's reviews.
I'd recommend picking up from your local library a copy of consumer report and research each model.

We have the same set and I am very happy as well. What I love the most about the top loader is that I don't have to worry about leaving it open so that the door can dry out so there won't be a musty smell. One less thing to worry about IMO.

We have the same set, except ours is manufactured by Maytag (they are actually the EXACT same machines, manufactured by the same company but marketed under 2 different names). They have been amazing. My favorite thing is that the clothes are nearly dry when they come out of the washer because of the spin. Makes the drying time much shorter.
