We are going to Vegas! (for the first time)

My boyfriend and I booked a trip to Vegas for 4 days at the beginning of October. I am very excited because neither of us have ever been to Vegas and we are staying at The Venetian :)

We are not huge gamblers or big drinkers, we are going more to see things we have never seen before, hang by the pool, eat and he wants to do some atv stuff. Is there any food places that we should not miss, or maybe one thing or show that you would suggest is a MUST for first time Las Vegas travelers?

Michi, we don't drink much or gamble much either, but really liked Vegas!

We were at the Bellagio, but went over to the Venetian for breakfast at Bouchon bakery. Try their pastries, they are delicious and reasonably priced.

I thought the Bodies Exhibit at the Luxor was really interesting. Just walking the strip will eat up a LOT of time, too. We took a plane ride over the Grand Canyon, which had incredible views. And of course, we spent a lot of time lounging at the pool.

Are you planning on seeing any shows?

Rebecca, as for the shows, I am currently doing research b/c we think we should at least go to one, not sure which one tho. We literally decided on the spur of the moment yesterday to book the trip hahaha. I will keep everyone posted :)

We just got back from there. The Venetian is gorgeous!! We saw Wayne Brady at the Venetian and he was amazing. I was crying from laughter the entire show.
I loved the atmosphere in Margaritaville. We went there one night for a "cheaper" dinner. I enjoyed eating at Delmonico's (emirils), the italian restaurant in NYNY and the stratosphere was a very nice romantic dinner.
We also visited the Grand Canyon. What a trip-it was amazing!

You're going to love it!

Walking the strip and taking a look inside each casino takes a lot of time. They're really amazing.

Last time I went, we saw 2 shows...one was Cirque De Soleil "Love" - and I highly recommend it!
We were able to get tickets through
tix 4 tonight the morning of the performance.

I highly recommend seeing a cirque du soleil show. we went a month ago and saw love, but a couple of years ago we say "o" and that was just amazing.

We saw Mystere at Treasure Island and it was one of the most fabulous Cirque shows I have ever seen.. We also ate at Social House there which was Asain Fusion and really yummy and afforable..

Venetian is so nice! i stayed there my first time in Vegas too!

make sure you go on the Gondola's! so romantic!

i loved Delmonico's .. the food was amazing!

In the mirage we went to see the dolphins and the zoo they have there, that was really fun!

you must see the fountains at Bellagio!

if you like the nightlife, the Ghostbar at the Palms is amazing! being on top of the roof with the incredible views!

also the little shows they have at treasure island is worth seeing!

Rollercoaster at NY/NY AND they have an awesome coaster in the Circus Circus, its all indoor!

many , many things to do there , we are not gamblers either but love going to vegas!
if you want to travel outside of vegas, the hoover dam is awesome!

Deanna I am going to write down a few of ur suggestions, we are not huge clubbers but I think we may hafta go just to see the insanity. LOL the rest sounds awesome! u girls make me super excited :)

Eat at the Eiffel Tower (sp?) in Paris

See a comedy show

Some of my favorites:
1) O or Zumanity
2) Bare pool at the Mirage is an "adult"pool and open to non-guests. I think $20 per person.
3) Red Square restaurant
4) Mirage buffet and Paris buffet are two of my tops
5) Check out online restaurants that become clubs. If you make a late dinner reservation you can often just stay inside the place when it becomes a club, thereby skipping any admission fees and lines.
6) Studio 54 - I saw some crazy performances there! Like people spinning from the ceiling and stuff.

I agree about going to La Bouchon. The pastries are so good. We ate there twice.

We just got back from staying at the Palazzo. Loved it. The suite was amazing.

I highly recommend the spa at The Venetian/Palazzo. My friend and I spent two days there getting massages and facials. They have so many fabulous ammenties that you get to use and a co ed area as well. It was so relaxing. We had lunch at the spa restaurant twice and the food was so good.

We liked gambling at NY/NY and Treasure Island because the tables have low minimums. We're not big gamblers either. A fun game if you're not a hard core gambler is Pai Gow poker. You can usually find a $10 table. The dealers always help you learn and $50 can last a long time and you get to drink for free if you're playing.

If you like Sushi we had phenomenal sushi at a sushi place in the Forum Shops in Caesar's Palace. I can't remember the name of it right now but it was the freshest, most delicious sushi I ever had. The service and the atmosphere was great as well.

Espressamente has the best gelato. It is to die for. It's right outside the Palazzo casino on the 1st floor. I think you can get to it if you walk the Venitian shops to the Palazzo side as well.

We saw La Reve at the Wynn. I really enjoyed it. We had VIP seats that were super plush and comfy and we got a bottle of champangne and chocolates during the show. We also got admissions to some club but we didn't go and monitors so we got to see how all the behind the stuff scenes for the show works.

All in all I had a fabulous time. I can't wait to go back.

We always went to Mon Ami Gambi in Paris for dinner. It's an amazing french steakhous. DEElish. It's right across the street from the Bellagio, so if you're lucky to get a table outside at night you get front seats to the water show....it's amazing.

Bellagio also has an excellent buffet even if you are not staying there.
