We found Baby Bunnies in our Backyard...
We are not sure what to do. We don't want to get rid of them, but we have 2 dogs so worry about something happening to them.
We are worried about mowing and edging around the flower bed they are in. They don't run away when we come near them with the edger but we worry about them getting scared and getting hurt. We found them on accident when DH was edging in that area.
We don't want to touch them since we don't know if the mom will reject them, but we need to mow the lawn.
Is there something we can do to that area to protect the bunnies yet allow them access to and from and garden. Right now it is mostly weeds and a few flowers so I am not worried about them ruining anything.

You can call a wild life rescue and they'll give you some ideas.
We always call the one in Hampton Bays...they're great there....

Re: We found Baby Bunnies in our Backyard...
My MIL had baby bunnies in her backyard last year and wildlife said NOT to move them because the mother purposely stays away so she does not rub her scent onto them. But if they are moved, the mother bunny won't know where to feed them. Something about predators can smell bunny scent so the mom only returned at night to feed them. They kept eachother warm by huddling.

Re: We found Baby Bunnies in our Backyard...
Well fr now we have left them. We keep chekcing on them and they seem to be moving during the day with the shade. Last night they were huddled up to sleep and this morning they were still there. The dogs don't seem to even notice them, we don't want them to go and "play" with them.
Hopefully they will not have any issues, they are about 3 inches long so in a few weeks they should be old enough to be on thier own.
Thanks for the info!
