Check under your radiators and any seams in your walls for holes and stuff them with steel wool.

PLEASE don't get the glue traps, they are really cruel, the mouse ends up breaking & dislocating bones trying to get off them, there are more humane traps you can buy. I'm not a huge fan of mice, but please don't use the glue traps.
Worse case scenario I'll lend you my two cats! They are rather partial to mice, not that being mauled by a cat is any kinder, but you get my drift!

I agree, sticky tape is cruel. Get the traps where the door closes from the weight and release the mouse into a park. Or get some cats.
Steel wool in holes, stops more from getting in.

I have done this at my old apt in Manhattan with great success!
In my case, it left the same way it got in. When I knew it had left, I stuffed the steel wool in all the cracks along the floor. It worked!

UH, I came home from vacation to one and almot died. I bought "safe" boxes and all that friendly no harm stuff and you know what the little bugger wouldnt go near it. So I bought the sticky stuff and the next day he was caught. I would rather him caught then the germs he brings into my home. The are filthy rodents. Good Luck.
