We have no hot water...
and we have no idea why.
What could be wrong???

Are you sure you aren't out of oil? Might be hard to tell, since you're most likely not using your heat right now...

if you have an electric hot water heater it may have burnt out.
if you have oil or gas try shutting off your red emergancy switch & then turning it back on. check to make sure you have oil. see if your heat comes on when you turn up your thermostat.
do you have a service contract?

if you have oil heat, your oil tank may have a lot of sludge in it and it shut off. this used to happen to my parents all the time until they replaced it. what was happening was everytime they got an oil delivery, the new oil would stir up the crud on the bottom of the tank and the whole thing would shut down. call your oil provider and have them come check it.

We're getting an oil delivery today. If that doesn't work then it has to be something with the hot water heater.

Look into the hole in your water heater you should see a blue flame if not open it up and there should be instructions on how to relight it. If you have a contract with yoru oil co they can come do it too.
