We have to re-home our two cats :( Found out DS is 'highly allergic'
We found out a few weeks ago that DS is highly allergic to cats - we had a skin test at the allergist which we were told that if they were not removed from our home ASAP that he can develop severe asthma...
So obviously we arent able to keep either of them which is beyond devestating. We have had both of them since they were kittens. We have tried petfinder, craigslist, save-a-pet, little shelter, NSAL, friends and family and we are at a dead end. Any info/help would be wonderful. TIA
Smokey, 6, is declawed, spayed, is more like a dog than a cat, meows for treats and is very vocal. Gray and white, beautiful color, great with kids.
Piggy, 3, is declawed, spayed, again is more like a dog than a cat, greets us at the front door meowing and with kisses, loves treats, is tiger colored with stripes and white paws.

ETA: Pix, and failed to mention that even though DS is allergic we have them seperated into one 7x8 room that they havent left since he was diagnosed bc DS is also allergic to the dander - so the sooner the better.. TIA

I believe that some cat rescue groups have cages at Petco locations. You may want to call local Petcos to see if they have the contacts for these groups or at least the times a volunteer is there so that you can go in and talk to someone. I know the one in Levittown has cages that a rescue group "owns". Since these small rescue groups are working on donations, it may be helpful to offer them a small donation to take your cats and find them five star homes. I dont know if you're willing to travel to brooklyn but you might want to try Brooklyn Animal Foster Network. I adopted Casey (my pitbull) from there and she also rescues cats.
