We live in SUCH an odd world
A man knocks on my door and tries to sell me steak out of the back of his truck (after all, don't you think a truck is used to get the meat to the supermarket or resteraunt), can't understand why I think that's random and continues to try to sell me until I have to slam the door on him because he can't accept that I have said no about 20 times.
Honestly though, who seriously buys steak out of the back of a pick up truck from someone who randomly knocks on your door?
Am I missing something here?

Re: We live in SUCH an odd world
I tried to turn it on him and ask him... If i walked up to your home, rang the doorbell 4 times (thats how many time he rang mine) and told him I am selling milk out of the back of my ***...would he buy it and he said sure I would, as long as it was good milk.

That's kinda like the lobster tails DH & I always see for sale on the side of Rt. 110 in Farmingdale.....now I don't know about you, but why would anyone buy seafood, which MUST be kept clean and refrigerated, but lobster tails ont he side of the road?? And how is it that they can keep operating??? So random, like the truck meat..

I had this happen to me while I was waiting in line at the bank (of all places!) a few years ago.

Re: We live in SUCH an odd world
Maybe I am too suspicious, but to me, not only does it sound odd, but perhaps a way for this guy to scope out the neighborhood.

I was thinking that...like if I said, I won't buy steak now cause I am going away for the holiday's or something like that.

And people say all kinds of things they shouldn't when they are thrown off guard. Someone ringing my bell offering to sell "truck steak" would throw me for a loop. I would think I was being filmed on a non-celebrity version of "punked"

My MIL would. Our local meat selling out of his pickup redneck came the week after Jack was born when she told us to take a nap and she would keep a ear out for him while he was napping. Well suddenlly I hear my beagle going insane and the baby screaming so I get up. To find out that she was afraid the dog would get out so when the guy came to the door she opened our garage to let him in then allowed them in and was talking to them in the garage which is filled with tons of real expensive tools. She then got talked into it and let the one guy in past my security system, past the nursery and into my kitchen. I walk into the baby's room to find him screaming I then pick him up and find a redneck and my MIL in my fridge (now keep in mind I just had a baby and my parents and tons of people from Dh's work precooked us meals so my freezer is chuck full and we live in a hurricane prone area so the last thing I need is tons of extra pickup truck meat) Well my lovely new mom hormones got the best of me and I walked into my kitchen telling him to get out of my house and that they aren't alowed to do this in my subdivision. My MIL then decides to make me look like an AZZZ by saying.. how she doesn't understand what my deal is and she was going to buy us alot of meat and it looks good.. I'm being stupid.. I look at her and explain my hurricane theory and that Publix does just find and we are fully stocked... she walks the guy out which now I'm freaking out because I hear her trashing me to the two guys in my garage. They leave..... I'm in our bedroom now freaking out on Dh about his Mother.... we then laid down the law about how -you don't tell us we can take a nap and leave the newborn especially screaming -you don't leave a stranger in the garage and another in our house -YOU DON"T BUY MEAT FROM A TRUCK!!! Dh and I were so ****** and asking her if she also told him that dh was deploying and how maybe she should have also told the guy I would be home alone with an infant for two months (hence, another reason why I don't need extra meat)....
Long story short I'm so thankful for my Dog alerting me.
Argh it so ****** me off. I feel your pain Deb.
(sorry for any typos!!! I needed to vent!)
Oh yeah her response after the fact was how she figured it was like "Colorado Prime!" how is a toothless redneck with no guarantee in a pickup like Colorado Prime!! argh
Needless to say this was early June and on July 9th I ended up throwing out 500 dollars worth of things in my fridge and freezer after Hurricane Dennis left us without power for weeks...
I would have been ready to open a can of whoop azz. Seriously

Was it Horizon or something like that? They did it to me a while back and I was like no, and they kept doing their sales pitch!
