we need some prayers and guidance......

i know this is nothing compared what some of you are going through but we still need help....

dh is thinking of doing the nyc corrections. this would be a MAJOR pay cut for us. however he is 29 and hates his career path he has chosen. he is utterly miserable. we'd(me, dh, dd and 2 dogs) have to sell our house and move in with my MIL which we planned on to get a bigger house but we will probubly wind up living there for a few years (3-4) until his pay is higher where we can afford another house. most likely we would have a 2nd child there too, there is plenty of room...it's alot to deal with right now.. but i want dh to be happy...

it's sort of good for MIL too, at the end of this month she will be divorced and not sure if she can handle the house all by herself. my SIL is moving out next week with her fiance into their new house (they are getting married 8/23)

however what if he gets it and then is in the academy in 2 months from now... how will we sell our house that quickly... would we go through all of savings trying to pay the mortgage while he is in the academy....

this all terrifies me and i know this is the best thing for my husband right now..
sorry for the rambling... just concerned about our future and dh's happiness

I'm living this right now...but didn't plan for it.

We bought our house and closed in Dec 2005. DH was working on Wall St making over 6 figures. 2 weeks later, he got the call to start the NYPD academy, which started them at $25K at the time. I wanted him to be happy, and I was scared as hell at the same time. We're getting through it (somehow) and he's happier doing what he's doing.

It's tough, and really stressful. But somehow you make it work.
