We saved 2 kittens...I just hope they survived!

So, we have tons of stray cats in the neighborhood. The other day, my neighbor found a kitten (about 2 days old)..I never saw something so small. It was heartbreaking and the most adorable thing all at the same time. Anyway, she called animal control thinking they would take him away and take care of it. Apparently, they told her they are over run with animals and when they get such young kittens, they put them down because the chances are they wont survive. She was devestated, had she known this, she would have tried to find something else to do with the animal.

Later that day, I go in the yard and hear CRYING! Turns out, 2 kittens from that litter were stuck between the fences in the yard. So we started our save the kitten adventure at around 4 in the afternoon and by 6, had them both in our hands. The cat who had them is a VERY young cat and probably didnt know what to do with them, so she dropped them back there. My dh took off the 2 planks...while my mom, sister and I pulled them out.

I never saw ANYTHING like this!! I literally cried. We asked around but no one was willing to take them. We have dogs so that was a no go. Then the neighborhood "cat lady" walked by. She said she would take them and take good care of them. I havent seen her since (this happened on Friday) but I am praying they lived. It made me feel good that we saved them but apparently they need their mommys milk and nurturing..so the chances werent too great.

But, it was a good deed..I was NOT leaving them back there..I was DETERMINED to give them a chance..just wanted to share.

Wow that's so sad!
But if this lady can bottle feed them, they might survive.
I know they make special kitten formula and tiny bottles for situations like this where they are abandoned.
It's a lot of work but I know that people have bottle fed them and they lived.

I pray they make it!
