We signed our contract to sell
We signed the paperwork on Tuesday to sell our co-op, which means they had a closing date of NOVEMBER 15th for us...we said absolutely not and pushed it back another month. So our closing is December 15th. The lawyer said that there can be an additional 30 days after that for everything to be finalized. So we wouldn't have to be out until January.
Is that normal? To have a closing date and then get an additional 30 days after that as well? Believe me, we need the extra time.. I'm just...
AND....the merrick tudor fell through and it was a good thing it did...there was too much water damage to that house with pipes leaking and the furnace wrapped in tin foil like a freaking thanksgiving turkey...
Now, we have to get a house QUICK!!!

Re: We signed our contract to sell
Yes you have thirty days from the closing date to close. The closing date is an on or about date. Someone just posted an updated Tudor in Merrick for you.

Yeah, that's normal--I think the extra 30 is also good for you buyer, b/c sometime the co-op board can be a PIA.

But like tourist says it depends on the co-op board, but sometimes you can even go over the 30 days and as long as both parties are ok with it, no penalties would be involved for go past the extra 30 days.

Congratulations! We had that 30 day thing when we went to contract to buy our co-op. I think it's normal! Good luck finding a new place!

Any date they give you really means "on or about" which means up to 30 days past that date. Most go a bit past that date into the 30 day period.

Re: We signed our contract to sell
Good luck finding another house. The good thing is there are plenty of them out there now.
Yes, our realtor told us it's normal to get a 30-day extension if needed, not a big deal at all.
I love the house vibes! After I sent a message earlier, I wanted to send house dust to everyone who is looking.
So, here are more house vibes for you:
