Wearing a girdle after a C-Section delivery, how soon can I wear one?
I had my baby a week ago, October 24th and I've been told to wear a girdle as soon as possible to tighten up the tummy area.
I just took my staples out Friday and I've been wearing granny cotton panties since my surgery. I think it's a little too early to wear a girdle and I'm going to ask my doctor Monday about it.
What do you guys think?

They wanted me to start wearing that belt while I was in the hospital. I refused. I was way too sore to even imagine putting that thing on.
Actually, I only wore it once or twice. Bad on my part, I should have gotten used to it more.I hear it works wonders!
I would say as soon as you dont feel "too sore" you can start wearing a girdle.

Honestly for some reason the first few pp months, I was such a sweaty pig. I think I was having nursing hotflashes or something.
I was nervous to wear the girdle, I feared it would cause me to sweat more and produce bacteria near the incision.

I wore mine as soon as the doctor took out my staples. I wore it religiously!

They gave one before I left the hospital but told me it was to use if I wanted some help to move around. I did not wear it. I was not told to wear it for other reasons.

This one looks pretty good but I hate buying things like this online. I'll see what my doctor says on Monday.
Postpartum Support Girdle
A bit pricey. I'll see what Macy's or Sears has.

I put my spanx the day I came home from the hospital, for about 2 weeks I think.

I got the band the day after I had them in the hospital and I wore spanx after a week or 2.

no one at hospital mentioned it to me but i had read here and a yoga instructor once told me to get one. I just bought one of those support bands from the surgical supply place but its not comfy and bulky under clothes? what type of band do they give at the hospital??? i'd like to know if its the same. also how long are we supposed to wear it during the day?

I wore an abdominal brace right after having my section to help with my recovery and pain (the tighter it was, the less movement, the less pain). It wasn't really a girdle, but sort of followed the same idea I guess.
