website rave....
I never really do this, but my BIL installed Skype.com on my computer while I was in the hospital. I have to say I just used the video chat for the first time & I loved it. What an amazing thing it is.
I just got to show my cousin in England our little Giovanni! She was so thrilled, since neither one of us can travel any time soon.....
anyway, just wanted to share!

You can download it from their website. It is not really a chat thing like AIM, but it is setuo sort of like it. You make a name, add contacts, etc. Then you can either use the live video feature or you can even call a telephone# (super cheap, too). All the info is on their site.

DH has been using Skype for a few years now and loves it. He primarily uses it when he's in Asia.

We use sykpe all the time with my family. Sometimes I hook it up in the living room just so my mother can watch Noah play for a while. He blows her kisses and sings to her. It makes being far away more bearable (although to be far, being far away has never really been unbearable...)

its a Voice over IP (VOIP)
its like a phone for the computer.
Calls are signifactly cheapier as it used the internet to make calls instead of LAN lines. This is like a cablevision Optimum voice or Vonage. You call starts over the internet then you can call LAN lines
For skype, google talk, yahoo talk etc... call skype to skype is free...or if you do skype to a lan line, it coast mere pennies per day.
its a great deal and the quality depends on your internet which if your on board band, it will sound great.
