wedding album question

How many photos are in your wedding album? Do you have a regular panel album with 1 picture per page or a magazine-style layout album?

We're finally going for our album consultation and trying to decide if we want to upgrade or not... and how many pictures we want to out in...

Curious what others have done -- and if you thought any upgrades were worth it. I hate to say it -- as much as I loved my wedding and my photos, I'm kind of over the whole thing now. I mean, I'd still like a nice album, but I'm now not sure I need to go ALL OUT on the album... maybe somewhere between the basic and the nicest?

What do you have and was it worth it?

I know we'll look at it occasionally... we don't have kids we'll be saving it to show, so it's just for us!

Re: wedding album question

im in the process of approving my album layouts now (june 06er here). we upgraded to the magazine layout and we have about 80 pictures. i thought it was worth it cause if we went the traditional album route we would've only gotten 40 pics. so this way we could have more pics to remember and the price difference wasnt too much.

We have the magazine layout and I love it. And I love our album, it's has an acrylic cover with our picture on it.
Lets see if this works.

Yeah, I was thinking along the same lines -- being able to fit more pictures. I'm having a hard time narrowing down my choices!

Re: wedding album question

I have a magazine style album with 244 pics (it's 94 pages long).

I love it and love looking at it. Everyone who's seen it who wasn't at my wedding, says they feel like they were there by just looking at it.

I also have another album (plain one) with all my proofs in them.

Re: wedding album question

We were going to upgrade our album but just went with the standard 30 pic one. We paid to own our negatives and franklly, this was enough for us. DH is a graphic artist and maybe one day he's make us a "coffee table" album but the one we have is just fine and when relatives or friends come over we pop in the dvd with all the pictures on it...lot cheaper!

Re: wedding album question

I have about 90 pictures in my album - it is a hybrid of a traditional amd digital album, so some pages have a black border with an actual picture, while other pages are digital compilations of pictures.

I spent a little extra for the hybrid album, and I am glad I did. I loved the classic look and feel of a traditional album, but the digial also adds variety.

I didn't go overboard with the cost though. I agree, after some time you just get over the whole wedding thing.

We went with the magazine style album. It's HUGE 10x15 with 74 pages and 248 photos. Getting up to 248 pics was an upgrade but we just could not narrow it down further. And it's very heavyChat Icon

I will not post them all but these are a few of the layouts and the cover that I just LOVEChat Icon It turned out so well!!!

It was worth it although I can admit that we have not looked at it in months. We only pull it out when people ask to see it.

on to the pics............

Re: wedding album question

I did our album Chat Icon I wanted an old-school album like my parents had, not a new photoshopped pro album.

I bought a really nice handmade ivory leather album from aspinal of london, silver picture corners, and put all the 4x6 pictures, along with an invitation, program, and TY card.

It came out great Chat Icon best of all, it has all the charm of a 50 year old album.... just as I hoped.

we have about 230 pictures in there....

Thanks again to everyone - MrsT -- WOW! What a gorgeous album!

We're off to our album consultation today, and we're upgrading.

We narrowed it down to about 125 pictures and can't go any lower! We may even have to add some more back in when we get there! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
