Wedding Anniversary - Poll Opinion
Hi Ladies,
So I just found out that my husband is working a crappy shift on our 3 year wedding anniversary so he would be really cranky and tired if we did our tradition .... of having dinner at the venue where we got married.
I was wondering if you celebrate your wedding anniversary only on the actual day, or if it still feels as special if you celebrate several days before or after?
Maybe I'm being silly and celebrating on the actual day doesn't really matter?

Re: Wedding Anniversary - Poll Opinion
That's a good option, cause my anniversary is during the week, maybe save it until the closest weekend day!

I don't think it has to be onthe day of-it's just not always going to be feasible over the next 50 years. I say save it for the weekend and really enjoy!

Re: Wedding Anniversary - Poll Opinion
True, true ... maybe I should just take it year by year and on those years when it can be on our actual anniversary, great and other years it can be during the week of our anniversary.
I can still save my other tradition of watching our wedding video for our actual anniversary, right?

Re: Wedding Anniversary - Poll Opinion
Funny you write this. DH and I had our 3 year anniv yesterday. I came home and he wasn't feeling well at all. He did get me flowers and a card, but was out of it. Breathed in bad stuff at work or something so had a headache. I told him to go sleep and we'll do it another time. I was first upset, but enjoyed the night with DS. After I put him to sleep I ran on the treadmill and enjoyed a quiet dinner. Figured we'll do something this weekend.

Re: Wedding Anniversary - Poll Opinion
we were just in the same position last week. DH worked the night of our 4th anniversary so we went out to dinner Friday evening instead. It was just so nice to be alone with each other for a nice dinner. I'll take whatever I can get!

We do it over the weekend - we're not exhaused, we don't have to rush, and we don't have to go to work the next day

Re: Wedding Anniversary - Poll Opinion
Here is what we have done the past 5 years 1 year...we left the day after our anniversary and went away for 5 days to PR 2 years...we had DS who was 6 weeks old, My mom watched him and we went to Cheesecake Factory on our actual day which I think was a Tuesday. 3 years...we went to AC for the weekend. I don't think it was the actual weekend 4 years...I don't remember what we did I think we went out to dinner 5 years.. it fell on either a Saturday or Sunday and we took the kids to Point Pleasant to go to the amusement park
In 3 weeks we celebrate year 6 and if we can get a babysitter we will go out other wise I think we are going to take the kids to Point Pleasant again.
For us is is usually when we can get a babysitter is when we can go.
