Wedding Attire Question for ladies...
What do you wear when it's a Friday night wedding and the invite doesn't say anything about attire. I'm curious if most people necessarily wear a long dress for an evening wedding or is that only if it's black tie? I've mostly worn cocktail dresses in the past but I feel like a lot of people post pics of long dresses on here when they're posting about wedding attire and it's got me wondering...

I almost always wear a black cocktail dress to weddings. To date, I have not been invited to a black tie (optional) wedding.

Black tie: long gown
"regular" wedding (evening): cocktail dress or "dressy" pant/top outfit. With nice jewerly/make up.

I only wear long black dresses to evening weddings.
i have a 4th of july wedding though that I am wearing brown cocktail dress too and I am hoping that I dont feel out of place in it!

I have never been invited to a black tie wedding, and any other weddings if they were not family members, (night time or day time weddings) I wear a short cocktail dress. For family members weddings i wore a long dress, if I wasn't in the bridal party.

I usually wear cocktail length if the invitation doesn't specify black tie optional or black tie.
I have worn a tea length dress to a black tie optional wedding and honestly, I did feel a little out of place, but there were other people with cocktail dresses on so it wasn't horrible.
I have a really hard time finding long dresses that I like, so I don't really wear them too often.

If it doesn't say anything about attire, then I'd go with a short dress too. Longer=warmer in my book.
