Wedding Gift
If you go to a wedding solo, do you usually give the same amount as if the two of you went? DH says no, Mom says yes.

Re: Wedding Gift
depends on how much you like the person.
I had couples come solo and give for one...I thought that was fine...(ANYTHING was fine)

Re: Wedding Gift
I tend to give 50.00 less. If I go to a wedding solo, the couple usually is not close to the both of us anyway.

that's a hard call, if I go to a wedding solo, it is because DH is chosing to work.

I have a sneaky feeling it was his choice this time. He has never met the couple and wasn't thrilled about going anyway.

Re: Wedding Gift
Yes. I always give the same. Whether it's just me, DH or if we can't make it.

Re: Wedding Gift
Nope.
ETA: If he was invited, maybe. Here's a good compromise: give all of what I normally give for one person and half for the person who didn't come.

Re: Wedding Gift
It totally depends on the relationship you have with that person. But - I also feel that
If they came to your wedding - i think you should give them back the same amount (regardless if one of you is going) that they gave you on your wedding day.
If its a friend you normally don't see or talk too, i would give an amount you normally would for one person.
If its a family member - I would give an amount for 2 people attending.

Re: Wedding Gift
Thanks for al your ideas Ladies!
We were both invited, but DH had to back out last month. She was able to fill his spot. She was my roommate in college, but we lost touch for 15 years and just reunited within the last year, shortly after my wedding. So, I went with Janice's idea and just gave $50 less.
The wedding was beautiful! Unfortunately, I got sick and had to leave early, but it was amazing!
