Wedding invitation question
I was invited to a Hindu wedding this summer. The invitation is for both the ceremony and reception that are actually on 2 different days. I am def. going to both BUT the invite doesn't specify if I was invited with a guest or not. She is a close friend of mine. Knows I am in a serious relationship. I'd hate to be that person that responds for "2" when i don't even know if I was technically invited with a guest. The inner envelope would usually say "Janine & guest" with the previous weddings I was invited to. This one was blank and the response card is one that you fill in so it doesn't specify either. I'd feel bad asking her about it.

Re: Wedding invitation question
If the invite just has your name only I would take it as being invited solo. If you feel comfortable, then call and ask if you are able to bring someone. Will you know anyone at the wedding besides the bride?

Re: Wedding invitation question
I'd take that to mean I was invited without a guest.

i also would think this..you might just be invited to the first part solo and the bigger part with a guest..you never know..just give a call and tell her no pressure just wanted to clarify.

Re: Wedding invitation question
If it does not say "and guest" you were NOT invited with a guest
You can call and ask if you can bring a date, but I would definitely not RSVP for 2 without talking to the bride or groom.
And don't be surprised if they politely tell you no.

I'd call her. She may have just omitted "& guest" by mistake. Could be. Bride brains. I've had it.

Re: Wedding invitation question
The envelope that it was mailed in was addressed to me. I live alone. The inner envelope, which is what the actual invitation was inside of, was blank. My name wasn't even on it. I was def. invited to the ceremony and reception because the actual invite had the info for the ceremony and the response card was only for the reception, which was the following day. I didn't even realize that they were on two different days until like 5 days after I got the invite! Uhh...I just wish SOMETHING would have been on the inner envelope, even if it was just my name. Urr. Oh well, guess I have to suck it up and ask.
Thanks.

No. I don't know anyone besides her dad. The only reason I know him well is b/c he is my Fed Ex guy that delivers to my job.

Re: Wedding invitation question
I'd ask...but if its addressed to you, its likely just you invited.
Although, traditionally Hindu weddings are huge so I wouldn't be surprised if shes like "the more the merrier!"

This was my thinking too but the reception is at the Sheraton so I know she needs a count and that's why I need to know for sure. I grew up in a neighborhood where the majority is hindu and my friends would go to weddings at the persons house and tell me to come. I would always be like "but I wasn't invited".

I just emailed her. I don't want to wait any longer since the RSVP is June 1st.
