Wedding related question...forgive me for forgetting, its been almost 3 years!
I am planning my sisters bridal shower for April and I am about to send out the invitations next week. Do I include the cards from BB&B that she is registered there? Or is this information supposed to be related solely on word of mouth?
There are about 3 different "families" of people plus a few others coming if that matters.
I seem to recall a debate about this in the past on LIW but I honestly dont recall the outcome.

I would put it in.... I love when I see a registry card in the envelope.

I think its fine to include the card. Ive recently been invited to a few baby showers and they had the registry cards in them. For my bridal shower my mom added the registry info on the invite

You can put in the cards or you can just write on the invitation where she is registered

For a shower, I think most people assume you will include registry info. As PP said, it is for an engagement party that is frowned upon.

I would put the cards in for whatever place she is registered at, so the guests know the following:
1. Where she/he is registered 2. If they don't know the bride, they know her name spelling, or at least the groom's 3. It alleviates people duplicating gifts (hopefully) by checking the registry

If you want to be the etiquette queen, then don't put it in. Traditionally, it's only supposed to be spread by word of mouth.
HOWEVER, I think it's fine to put in registry information for a shower, but never for an e-party or wedding. I think most people expect it in a shower invitation and don't frown upon it these days.

ITA with this - people these days would freak out if they didn't know where to go buy the bride's shower gifts!!

People won't freak out - they'll just ask. My shower was June of last year and my mother didn't include registry info with my invites. She felt it would be rude, even though plenty of people do it today. People asked when they called to RSVP. Everyone knew where I was registered and there was no drama.
