weekend lunches...
what do you usually do when the husband and kids are home for weekend lunches?

It varies, sometimes left overs,sometimes we will get take out chinese lunch specials or make sandwiches.It really depends on our mood!

Great topic, I've been thinking about this all week, this is such a stuggle for me for some reason. I am great Mon-Fri - breakfast, lunch and dinner but come Saturday I am never prepared for anything.
So this week when food shopping I bought the following:
DiGiorno Frozen Pizza ($6.99)
Virginia Ham ($2.25) & Swiss ($2.57), 2 kinds of bread ($5.00)
Vegetable Burgers ($3.99) & Rolls ($2.50)
Eggs ($2.99), Bacon ($3.99), Sausage ($2.99), Bisquits ($1.87)
In addition, I made a little extra food with dinner each night so I have various leftovers (rice & beans, macaroni & peas, fried turkey cutlets, tonight will be some sort of stuffed chicken & potatoes)
I am hoping that we don't run into the "oh crud it's 2:30 pm and we are hungry and there is no food" issue. We are always doing something around the house and it stinks to stop and run out and order (in addition to cost wise - for under $20 I have more than enough food for lunch, snack or maybe even a light dinner if we are really busy ...)

Usually on Saturdays we have sandwiches. I will go to the deli and buy fresh cold cuts and either Italian bread or rolls. Most Sundays, we have a late breakfast/early lunch. I go to the bagel store at the crack of dawn on Sundays but DS doesn't wake up until around 11-11:30.

its just me and DH now...
usually there is some kind of left overs, I will make grilled cheese, BLT's, PBJ, sometimes we go to the deli but we try to eat at home!

I don't have kids yet, but on the weekends we do one of three things
-eat leftovers from dinners accumulated throughout the week
-make sandwiches
-go out (usually pizza, the deli, burgers)

I usually bring food from home all week long, so Saturdays are my splurge days. We are normally out running errands, so we would go out for lunch.
If we are home, and need something quick I normally make mac and cheese, wontons, or sandwiches.

We don't eat formal lunches usually; I am up early and DH sleeps late. Sometimes we'll have cold cut sandwiches or a go to the diner. Mostly it's snacking.

DH and I will often eat a late breakfast like omelets and toast which holds us over for the day. Otherwise cold cuts, grilled cheese, soup, or home made pizza.

Same here
same here too. it's usually snacking or sandwiches until dinner.

Saturday DH tends to work so it's usually just DS and I. I am just sitting down now at 11:30AM for an English muffin with PB&J and coffee.
I tend to snack a lot on Saturdays.
I know it's bad, but once in awhile, I will take DS to MickeyD's for nuggets and fries.
Sunday DH has been on a bagel kick lately so he usually runs out and gets us a dozen, which we will eat through the week. I usually make a big Sunday dinner early in the afternoon or we eat with family.
