weight gain w/ meds
i was just wondering if anyone else experienced a lot of weight gain on fertility meds? Does it eventually taper off??

Yes, definitely. I usually gained around 10 lbs overall from a fresh cycle (mostly because of BCP) and maybe 2-5 from an FET.

I gained about 15lbs in the first 2 weeks on my fresh cycle a few years ago, probably from tye BCP.

i didnt really gain weight on the IVF meds. i guess everyone is different but i was worried i would blow up like a balloon and that never happened.
i did, however, get bloated, but the bloat didnt show until a week after my transfer when my ovaries were at their largest point.
since i am pregnant, the bloat never went away..and just turned into a belly.
the bloat was only noticible to me- if you were looknig at me with work clothes on, you would not notice.

We have been on this path for almost 2 years. In that time, I had a 17wk pregnancy (lost due to complications), 6 injectable IUI cycles, 2 fresh IVF cycles, an 8wk pregnancy with triplets (lost due to SCH), and one FET. I'm currently in my 2nd FET cycle and in total since we started, I am up 15lbs. In that time, I was also on Prednisone which caused me to gain weight, but I lost it quickly.
All things considered, 15lbs isn't so bad.....

Everyone's different. After being off BCPs, I started gaining weight, then soon after got diagnosed with PCOS. I feel my weight gain is more due to that than the meds. And being pregnant for 8.5 weeks. However, prednisone definitely made me more puffy. I'm up 18 pounds and counting

thanks for replying, i am sure my co-workers think i am pg based on the weight i've been packing on, i have no other explanation as I exercise daily and don't really eat too junky.. i just wish i had a BFP to show for it! Thanks and good luck to you all

i have gained a ton of weight since wea started this almost 2 years ago..
i do not know if it is from the meds,stress,bloating...but i suspect it is from the dorito's,ice cream and reesee's...but you never know

I gained about 5 lbs every cycle but I took off 3 months and i came right off for me. I'm starting another IVF cycle so I'll let you know how it goes.

It's def from the meds... calories don't count when you're going through infertility.

I got off the pill in april and i started gaining weight right away. I have pcos so that is why. When i was on bc I was able to lose weight easily, not so much anymore. i gained at least 10 lbs since april. I don't think its from the clomid but more from pcos. I mean I've only been on clomid for a month but i hope i don't gain more weight from it
