Weight Watchers question
Those that do it:
Do you go to meetings? If so, where and what are the leaders like?
If you've done both, meetings and online: Where were you more successful?
I've been off for a while, I lost over 30 pounds on it a few years ago and was able to maintain that weight loss for about a year. Of course then my life hit quite a few snags and kind of hit the fan and I've gained almost all of it back. I did it online.

Re: Weight Watchers question
I go to meetings. I go early Saturday morning, before I eat anything! I like my meeting -- my leader is very popular, and I go to Wantagh (which is I think the most attended center in the country). So it's a lively, active group. I think it helps to go with a buddy. I go with my mom.
I've been back at my Lifetime goal for about a year now, and I find meetings help keep my "head in the game," so to speak, and keep me accountable with my weight. I really like having someone else weigh me in and record the weight for me.
I think it all depends on the meeting members and leader being the right fit, as everyone has a different style and a different approach to the material. When I first did WW in 2005, I did it in Manhattan and didn't care for the meetings as much. And even now, I don't love every meeting topic and I disagree with some of the other members' approaches or comments, but I still like the community aspect of the meeting. I am social and like being with other people who have the similar goals and are following the same program.
ETA - My leader, Susan, is definitely more of a tough-love person and is all about the humor. But she is a make-no-excuses type, which I like. She doesn't let members get too whiny or play the victim. But others might find her harsh! It's all what you want/need.
I have gained weight in the past (from pregnancy, and also just from overeating) and tried to lose it just by using my WW e-tools or even something like www.MyFitnessPal.com. It just doesn't work as well for me. Whenever I've re-committed to meetings, I've always been able to lose weight. I first did meetings in 2005, then again in 2009 (after my pregnancy), and most recently last year, and each time I've been able to lose 30-40 lbs in a matter of 5-6 months. And I only have had issues regaining when I've stopped going to meetings. Even though I don't count points anymore, the meetings seem to help me maintain.
But I know other people who have had very good and long-term success online. So I think it's whatever works best for your personality.

Weight Watchers question
I go to Wednesday night 6:45 in West Babylon with Jeanie! Love her! I am only successful when I go to meetings and its proven that you do lose more when you go to the meetings then doing it on your own. This week my husband is actually going to join with me so this will be my first time with WW that I'll have a buddy :)

Weight Watchers question
I don't go to meetings but I do it online. I have been very successful with online in the past but went off it when we got married and went on our honeymoon.
I feel like you just need to be structured and make sure you keep track of yourself in order to be successful with the online program. I have the app on my phone and just make sure to insert anything I eat so I can keep track of my points.
