Weird/Phantom Smells?
I feel like everything smells like cigarettes, even when I'm someplace where I KNOW there is not and has never been smoking! This must be a weird pregnancy thing, right? I hate it!

Yep! I don't think they are phantom at all, I just smell things more intensely and sooner than anyone else!

Increased as sense of smell each time. We were in a big crowd at the tree and I called DH out on a Fart before I even knew I was pregnant! We now lol

Weird/Phantom Smells?
To me, all of our wash cloths smell disgusting! I told DH we need new ones and he said they don't smell bad at all. I still bought new ones for dd because I felt bad washing her face with them since they were really so so stinky to me.

Weird/Phantom Smells?
I had this with smoke too! Except my doctor thought I was nuts. I smelled it EVERYWHERE, and I even had the dumb taste in my mouth constantly (and I obviously didn't smoke)

Weird/Phantom Smells?
i just smell everything. lol. The other day we were somewhere and I was like why doe it smell like garbage. My DH was like you are nuts lol. Everything annoys me. We were in an UBER cab and her air freshener was making me sick. I hate this part of pregnancy and I have a sensitive smell to start with not pregnant.

Increased sense of smell was my first symptom on multiple occasions and was early and pervasive. I laugh because I called DH out on a fart when we were at the tree in rockerfeller center and he was like, how in the world could you smell that and know it was me surrounded by 3924 people?? I didnt even know I was pregnant yet. And when we were on vacation I was waking up in the middle of the night smelling pickles and urine (chances are someone had wet the bed we were sleeping in at some point in the past and the smell never came completely out  ) Again, this was days before I even tested positive. Oh, and riding on the subway? forget it! Just chalk it up to another crazy preggo symptom. Chances are someone who had smoked or who had been around a smoker rode in your car...

Weird/Phantom Smells?
I have the nose of a blood hound now.. everything smells horrid to me. I was making spaghetti Bolognese this weekend, and I swore the meat was rotten. I couldn't stomach being near it as I was cooking but we had guests so I had to suck it up. If DH ever warms up food in the microwave, I have to open the windows, it would be a bowl of soup and I still can't be around it.

OMG sense of smell was my WORST symptom.
Before i even knew I was pregnant, I walked into a Payless and was overwhelmed by the smell of cheap shoes and pleather.
It was awful and something I had NEVER smelled in there before.
Same thing in a clothing store- I just smelled the fabric and whatever chemicals are in clothes - that new clothing smell- it was KILLING me.
I should have known right then that something was up
I would smell the bathroom at work from 25 feet away and behind a closed door.
It was winter and DH liked cooking on the foreman indoor grill and I used to make him do it in the garage with the garage door open to vent it because the smell of that meat cooking on that thing would linger in the house and make me SOOOO sick

Yes besides the m/s this has been the worst part of pregnancy. Everything smells so bad to me. I'm constantly asking DH if he smells that and he's like um no...

Do you have a relative that has passed away that smoked? My mom is big into psychics and mediums and they said when she smells cigarettes it's a sign of my grandmother ". "visiting" she was a heavy smoker (and eventually died from it).
