Weird Playground ?-anyone know of one where....
there is just one entrance, one exit? Meaning there is not a ton of those exits to jump off ...like...firemans poles...and spierweb things.
More of a toddler playground?
We have searched high and low. My issue is Noah is he is a monkey and a daredevil and thinks he can jump off , climb off things that are NOT for his age...and it makes the playground experience tiring...and scary and At this point in my PG, I cannot do it.
Want to find one that I dont have to worry so much about.
Hope that made sense

Diamond in the Pines! So far from you, but since it's a handicap accessible park, everything is low to the ground. Call your town and ask if they have that type of playground somewhere...state handicap accessible though.

I know what you mean. My DS is like that too. I end up climbing all over the playground equipment like I'm a little kid and I am NOT little or a kid!

Yea DD is the same way....she's only 17 months and she thinks nothing of trying to step off, climb down where there are gaps.

Re: Weird Playground ?-anyone know of one where....
There is a small park behind the library in Rosyln that has equipment for very young kids, and there are no drops off of that, but DS doesn't like it one bit. The slide is so short, he runs around it briefly and then he wants to go ont he equipment they have across the way for much older kids.
If I'm at the park alone, I'm on the equipment with him to make sure he doesn't take a leap.

I think the one at Marjorie w/ the fire truck is like that- not much to jump off of.

Donna, they just redid the one at Venetian Shores...there is only 1 exit (I believe) & its pretty confined & is mostly for little kids.

Seaman's Neck Park in Seaford has a toddler playground separate from the bigger kids playground. We haven't been there in a while since we can walk to a different playground so I can't say for sure what equipment they have.
I want to say they also have a sprinkler park there for kids.

Re: Weird Playground ?-anyone know of one where....
I dont live on the island BUT I just wanted to say, I am so grateful I am not the only ones always looking for playgrounds like this. Megan is almost 3 but she still isnt ready to grasp that if she steps out an opening, she is going to fall. I think she mentally understands it but she moves so fast, and runs non stop, she doesnt stop to think. I am always the mommy climbing and chasing her and I would love to find a nice little toddler, safe park for her. I too have the problem if the bigger park is across the way..she runs there and only wants to be in that one..just so good to know that I fall on common ground with some people!

Re: Weird Playground ?-anyone know of one where....
Greenbelt Recreation Center - Greenbelt Parkway & Patchogue Holbrook Road (near nicols rd)
They have a good size toddler playground - more then one "exit" but they are all small - its like a huge little tikes set. Then there are 2 toddler swings. and all the way across the park is a big metal big-kid playground.
Also, I *think* at Rocketship park in Pt Jeff Station there was one - there might be a few more stairs that lead to a fireman pole- but I can't remember.
I really like Greenbelt Rec. Center...so does DS which is good enough for me.

Re: Weird Playground ?-anyone know of one where....
We are having the same issues with ds!! If a park has a big and small section he always takes off to the bigger one! A couple of weeks ago he quickly got to the top of a very high up jungle gym and I was terrified!! I hate the bars that are loops going down-they could fall right off!! Also the fire poles are way too dangerous!!! I will try some of the parks listed above!! :)
