WEIRD question about getting my hair cut

I just called and said I wanted to make an appt for a trim. Do they assume I want it washed and blown out and all? (because I do..)

I have been going to this place for about a year now and I forget what I usually say over the phone.. but once at my old place I didn't specify cut AND blow .. and when I got there they wanted to just trim DRY hair, or they said they can trim my hair wet but I would have to blow it out ... Can u imagine why I stopped going there?!?!!?! Chat Icon

Anyway u think I should call back and clarify or do u think by me just saying "trim" they know that I want it washed and blown out too? I don't want to call back and sound like a nut Chat Icon

I would call back to be sure. They may put you in a shorter time slot if they are thinking trim and not blow out. You could just start out saying "I wanted to double check because at my last place xyz happened."

I can't stand that salons charge for additional "services" like that...I had the same thing when I had color once. My choices were to leave with a wet head or pay an additional amount for them to dry it but not style it. Chat Icon I am thinking you wet my hair, you should dry my hair.

Thanks, I took your advice and just called to confirm! Chat Icon The appointment absolutely includes the whole cut and blow out thing .......... phew!

I can't believe these places would think otherwise! Why would someone want to leave with wet or unstyled hair?!?! Chat Icon

The first time I got highlights, my hairdresser asked if I wanted her to dry it. I said yes (I thought it was a strange question. Why would a salon want you to leave with a wet head? Also, at what point would I see my highlights--when I got home?) Anyway, after a normal blow out (not the "I'm going out for the night" blow out) they charged me $30 extra! I couldn't believe it!
