Weird Re-Fi Question - Union related.
Rob and I would like to take advantage of the nice low interest rates and possibly re-fi our mortgage.
The challenge is that my husband works for a union and is currently laid off - which means no pay stubs for him. The building trades are not doing well - so he may not be back to work until the summer or later (he's already been out since June '08) We have no challenge paying our mortgage with my salary - but I am not sure the banks would agree to re-fi with his income being SUB/unemployment at this juncture..
Does anyone know if this would fly in any universe?

does the union have a credit union or any mortgage help program?
I know some do
does he get any pay from the union now?
do you have any debt?
(you don't have to answer- you can FM me)
when did you buy the house?

We are dealing with a mortgage co for union members only, maybe they will have some answers for you. they are Members Mortgage in garden city NY
