weird sleeping/milk issue
so up until now Talia has taken 2 naps a day and three bottles...it looks something like this
Bottle 7:30 Nap 8-10 Bottle 1:30 Nap 2-3 Bottle 6:00
Well - all of a sudden she is down to 1 nap a day at 1:00. She won't take the bottle before - it's too early...and won't take it after her nap..it's too late. So I have just stopped giving it to her. Without it she will have 16 oz. a day - plus 3 meals, 2 snacks and water.
Do you think its okay to omit that third bottle. I just worry because she is so small and I am sure she has fallen undeer 19 lbs. since she barely ate last week when she was sick. (she is 14 months).
Thanks for your input.

Re: weird sleeping/milk issue
try giving the milk while she eats....and try adding higher fat foods into her diet.. making oatmeal with whole milk , high fat cheeses, cooking chicken with olive oil to add fats...
It is normal to get rid of the two naps at this age

Re: weird sleeping/milk issue
its not getting rid of the naps I am worried about - its the food issue. She wont take milk while she eats. Other than that she is a great eater...the dr's tell me not to worry about her weight - but I do anyway.

Re: weird sleeping/milk issue
I think that 16oz is OK at that age. (so JennyG tells me ) Maybe she will start to eat more food now that the 3rd bottle is gone? And like was said...add higher fat foods (olive oil, avocado, butter etc)
But you probably shouldn't listen to me since I still BF sidney and she is only 18.5 lbs at 16 months
P.S. How did you get rid of the 5am wake up call???

Re: weird sleeping/milk issue
My ped. told me 16oz was what to aim for. More is fine but for us that was the minimum. Honestly I dont' even measure I just give her sippy cups and she drinks what she drinks. The way I look at it is tht I can't force it into her. She's thin and not a big eater and has always been that way so I've just stopped fighting it.
