Well after a month and a half the cat finally did it
He jumped in the baby's crib and went to sleep! I thought I was finally safe where I can leave the door open. Now I dont know what to do. I'm kind of annoyed about it now.

oh no, I'm a little worried about this myself. I'm hoping my cat will pay no mind to the baby's room, but that might be wishful thinking!

Have you tried lining the crib with aluminum foil? They say if you do this the cat will jump in & it will scare the crap out of them. Then they won't do it again.

I tried this all over my couches once with the dog. When I got home from work my dog was laying in the middle of the foil! I didnt try it for the cat though, I'll do that now. Thanks!

I'm gonna try that on my couch for the dog - it should work for her because the noise will scare the crap out of her!

I'm sorry to laugh but that visual is awesome! Guess THAT trick didn't work.
Cats are little more skittish though and they don't like certain textures/feelings so maybe it will be differnet for the cat!

Re: Well after a month and a half the cat finally did it
This is what I am worried about-although my Tigger will probably do what he usually does and sleep in the storage area of the stroller and my Skittles will sniff around and get bored. I am going to do tinfoil just in case. I agree with the poster who said that it is different with cats-they don't like certain noises/feelings that don't bother dogs.

Re: Well after a month and a half the cat finally did it
Two things, this is what we did. We kept a martini shaker full of change and would shake it when the cat went near the crib. We also lined the crib with tinfoil bc cats hate the sound and feel of it. So when we werent around and hed jump in it, he land on the tinfoil, hate it and jump right back out. After a few times of these things, he never went in it again.

Re: Well after a month and a half the cat finally did it
We always kept the door closed when DS was sleeping, even as a newborn, so it wouldn't bother me if Alfie took a nap in there occasionally. He probably does and we don't know it

I'd keep the door shut from now on. There's not controlling kittybrats, they do whatever they want to.

Re: Well after a month and a half the cat finally did it
That would defin not work with my dog. Lol. My lab would be laying on his back legs up in the air rubbing around on it. I think cats are more offended by it. Of you could use a spray bottle & spray the cat with water when it goes near the crib. They sell those small mist bottles that hairdressers use at cvs. Good luck!
