Well found out today that I WILL NOT be getting paid AGAIN
I am ****** I wasn't put into the system until 9/22 even though I was appoint 8/31
OH and this will further delay my health benefits since GHI didn't even know I was working until 9/22

2 paychecks now...I was going to take an emergency check which was only going to be $650..but no taxes taken out....and that would totally screw me because there is a pay increase going into effect 10/15 and they would have to figure out the difference...and as we all know they aren't too swift....so I am not taking it and I am going to borrow $$$ from my mom

I would do exactly what you are doing- borrow from Mom - in my case Dad- and pay it back when you get the check

I don't think the city will excess people. Once you have been appointed I don't know if they can do that so easily. Speak with your union rep about that.
As far as the pay I totally know how much it sucks. When I started in the city a few years ago I didn't get my first check until October 18th.

I thought that once you are appointed they can't excess you --- you might have to spend some time at the region or subbing but I thought that you can't be let go completely.
Maybe I have it all wrong -- the city is kinda crazy.
