well I'm back from my HSG
I had my HSG today and I thought I'd share for those who may be having one, since so many of you have shared. First I have to say how much I really like RS of NY they are so helpful. Before the HSG, the radiology center said I had to have the beta test done, so I went to Quest on friday, of course as of this morning they never processed my test - so RS of NY took me and did the test themselves so I'd be ready for my 1pm HSG.
The dr. that performed the test was very nice and explained everything he was doing as he did it, for me the only time it was painful was the balloon - it hurt and I jumped. For the most part the test is uncomfortable but I got through it. The dr. let me watch on TV so that kept me busy also.
So it seems I have one tube blocked, not really sure what that means, he said it's possible that it's a spasm and didn't open because of the catherer but knowing my luck it's closed..
Right now I'm just feeling period like cramps nothing too bad - I'm just uncomfortable and I'm going to just lay down on the couch. I'm bleeding a bit (a little heavier than spotting but not like AF)
I go back to my RE in July so hopefully we have some direction on where to go with my blocked tube and borderline high FSH.
I just wanted to thank you all for being a great support for me during this journey.

Hi Donna, I'm glad the HSG wasnt too bad for you. I'm sorry you might have one blocked tube (I just found out my right tube is blocked...I know its confusing and all). Hopefully it was just a spasam.
As for the bleeding, a lot of what comes out is the betadine (sp?) that they use to disinfect you before doing the test. So hopefully the bleeding isn't too bad.
It's SO nice to hear good things about RS of NY! I'm going to see them on Thuesday (in 2 days) and I can't wait to get things moving along.

Donna, thank you for sharing your story with us... everytime someone posts about their experiences (as good or bad as they might be) it is a valuable service to ALL of us and I truly appreciate you doing so, especially so shortly after your HSG today!
I am glad that for your sake it is over and I hope you are feeling more comfortable soon ... I also will pray that your tube isnt blocked BUT i'm sure the doctors will know how to treat it if , indeed , it is
It sounds like RS of NY is a wonderful place, I wishI lived closer to LI I would DEFINITELY be calling them soon

I am glad its over and I am so happy that your experience wasn't horrible. I have heard sometimes the HSG itself clears out the tube.

Another blocked tuber, huh? If you have any questions about blocked tubes, feel free to FM me. I've done so much research since finding out both of my tubes are blocked. With one open, you should be fine even if you never get the other one fixed. Best of luck to you, and congrats on surviving that hellacious test.

Donna, glad you had a good experience. I am praying that your tube just spasmed and it is not blocked, but even if it is, with the other you are still in good shape!

I am so sorry to hear your tube is blocked!
But I am glad that you are not in too much pain and that you are going to your dr next month to create a plan of action.
