Well, today was the day...

Lucas started day care. Chat Icon

He will be going 3 days a week and my mom will continue to watch him 2 days.

I was fine... until I went to leave and realized that my little baby didn't even notice that I left! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

*sigh* He will be 1 on Sunday and he is such a big boy now.

I guess in the scheme of things, it's better that he is having fun instead of crying because I am not there. Just a little bittersweet for me. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

At least I stopped crying for now!

ETA: OK, just started crying again because this day care has parent view where I can go online and log in to watch what's going on in the room...

that's a GOOD sign... trust me...

my son was always a good 'leaver'... I had him in 3 different day cares before he started kindergarten... he never really cried when I left... always adjusted well..

Re: Well, today was the day...

OK, so now that I am addicted to watching my little Lucas in his new day care room.. all the babies are sitting on the floor and the teacher must be doing something with them because they are all looking in her direction (I can't see what she is doing)

And he's sitting there so nicely! Chat Icon

Oh, this is just too much!

omg don't watch your kid from afar... I actually JUST posted on the new blog function, an old story I wrote about watching my son interact with other kids...

it KILLS me...

(of course, I don't really mean not to watch your kid... but if you're like me: OVER EMOTIONAL when it comes to DS, it will drive you nuts)

Oh, I know that it will probably make me more upset that I can see him but can't be with him. But right now it is making me feel OK to know that he looks like he is having fun!

Well, my biggest fear was not so much of an issue!

He went down for a nap without giving them a problem!!!

second, the parent view thing....how do you not sit there and watch it all day long? Obviously you can't answer that question because apparently you are. I think it is so wonderful yet so crazy...i wouldn't get anything done!

yay for Lucas and nap time!!!

OK, well since today is the first day, I am getting absolutely nothing done.. just staring at my baby playing and having a good timie.

I have determined that his new favorite toy in the whole place is a little stroller for a doll... like his own baby umbrella stroller. I just keep seeing him zoom from side to side pushing this stroller around. It's making me laugh! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

It's a day care in NJ. Called Rainbow Academy... they may have them in other places as well.

maybe he's trying to tell you something mommy!

Matthew took a liking to a baby doll last weekend. He was hugging it and sucking/biting its head. Everyone kept telling me that he wants a baby sibling to love. And I said no, he wants a baby sibling to eat apparently!

PS - how did pickup go? Did they tell you what an angel for a son you have?

OK, so oddly enough, the pickup did not go as well as the drop off. He cried when he saw me... probably because he couldn't get to me as he was strapped to a chair at the table for snack time.

THen they told me he had a good day but did get a little "clingy".

He will adjust. He would not let go of my legs when we got home. I tried to cook dinner and he was attached to my feet. He was also exhausted!

We will see how tomorrow goes!

I can assure you both, hugging and loving a baby doll (or in Matthew's case, eating it Chat Icon ) is no indication of what they will or will not do to a real live sibling! Jeremy's favorite thing to do with his dolls (elmo, teddy bears, etc) is to throw them. He hasn't tried to do that to Dylan (at least not yet Chat Icon ). He loves to pat his head and make nice. He loves to kiss Dylan's head too. it really is the sweetest, cutest thing ever Chat Icon Chat Icon

As far as Lucas's reaction to coming home, I am sure tomorrow will go much better. Today was a "test" day for you both Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
