Well, we are moved in..3rd floor..Inlaw money update..these people are trash.
my sciatica is on FIRE! Between the stairs and the unpacking
I go to the dr today. We went out to eat last night, so I am sure it will show on the scale. I could care less at this point.
Mini vent...
My MIL is a real piece of work. If you remember, my FIL is coming and we are paying for his hotel, so he doesn't live in a car while he visits.
I have been trying my hardest with MIL. Trying to give her the same op to know all about the baby and me as I give my mother. Last 2 weeks, I was in a baking mood so I sent down to FL a few boxes to her. EVERYTIME I let my guard down I get f'ed
MIL asked DH for 100.00 yesterday. nice. We have a baby coming, just moved in, need washer/dryer...oh yeah and this place called a nursery. I never expected her to pick anything off my registry and send it, but I sure as helll did not expect to have to send someone else cash.
DH was so nervous to tell me. I feel so bad for him. He doesn't talk to her often, and he kept thanking me last week for reaching out to her. Well cut me off.

Congrats on the new place Janice
Sorry to hear about your MIL - I feel your pain. Mine is always expecting something from us - its never just a visit to say hi.
I just keep my distance and let my DH handle his mom and it seems to be working.

My MIL is the same way too. She didn't pay for our RD, she made us pay for car service from JFK to Brookhaven ( ) because she didn't want to rent a car and we paid for half of her airfare! She does the same to SIL, so at least it isn't us.
She wants to come up after the baby is born, but she wants us to pick her up at the airport and to pay for a hotel b/c she doesn't want to stay in our guest room b/c she pretends we don't know that she and her "roommate" sleep in the same room. DH is going to have to tell her no at some point. He doesn't even want to deal with her bs anymore.
Sorry for my own MIL vent. I am sorry yours wants money at this point, that is so sucky!

Oh Janice, that really stinks!!! I'm sorry your in-laws are such a mess.
But congrats on the new place. Try to take it easy and rest up so your back can have a chance to relax.

I hope you all are very happy in your new place. And tell that MIL to go scratch!!!  You certainly don't need her aggravation. Don't go crazy unpacking - try to take it easy and take care of yourself.

Sorry to hear about MIL. I also have some issues with MIL that it is difficult for me to get over. Let's jus say I'm surprised she hasn't hit DH and I up for some money yet. Or a plane ticket to NY to see the baby. Why not, we paid for her to come here for our friggen wedding. 
Anyway...sorry for stealing your vent
Just know that you and I are in the same boat. As are Mike and Leo. They just want to be good guys to both their mom and their wives. We can't blame them for that.

Congrats Janice!!!!!!!! We are not in until Nov 1st  The packing totally sux. well a least u can start decorating the nursery or (MIL's ROOM...JK). That totally sux!

thanks all! I really like our new apt. The packing and moving was terrible. I got stuck on the bathroom floor at one point unloading tolietries. I couldn't get up
Thanks for the inlaw stories. I hate to vent to DH, he is already feeling it and completely embarassed by the whole scene. I just don't get why they think our money is different from their's. MIL is 45 years old! She just doesn't like holding down a job. Totally able bodied. I don't get it.

Well the plot thickens!
So MIL asked DH to Western Union the money. Sure why shouldn't we pay more to send the money to you.
Luckily we both bank with the same one, so DH just transferred money to her account.
That was yesterday morning. DH leaves for work at 3 PM yesterday, calling his mother to tell her transfer was done.
Apparently, DH's sister is in a bad way. She is 9 mos pregnant by a dirtbag and already has a 19 mo old. We also send savings bonds to the baby(just the reciept, we keep the actual bond). I don't speak to SIL at all, she conned us out of over 1000.00 last year. She couldn't make rent, she said she was waiting for a check and if we did not send the money her and the baby will have no place to go. Thanks for putting us on the spot. We never saw the money again. Not even an attempt to pay us back.
So SIL is now living in Orlando with MIL. We did not know that. MIL was the one who made the cash call. SIL called my house twice last night, Leo's job once, and Leo's cell. He works till 2:30 AM, we go to bed, phone is ringing at 8 AM. SIL. where is the money? ummm..why are you so concerned about money coming that your mother will use for bills?
We were played. It felt better thinking his mother needed cash for bills, but no, I am sure MIL made the call to give SIL money.

Oh Janice, these people really are just a nightmare. Leo really needs to put all of these people in their place. He needs to let them know that the money store has closed it's doors. If any of them need money they can go find someplace else to get it from. It's ridiculous and they will continue to take advantage of you guys as long as you allow them to. This really needs to come to an end.
Want me to call them all for you? I'd be glad to tell them to all back off.

I was just thinking that I should call them. Not even tell Leo I called and just do it and threaten them. they think they are slick and that Leo doesn't tell me about the money. His mother is this nut. She doesn't like the idea of working. She literally RENTS A COUCH! could you imagine? Leo offered to buy her a plane ticket to go live with her parents and she said no. She doesn't have a car. She lives in walking distance of restaurants and stores...doesn't want to have to commit to a job. I did not pick up the phone last night when SIL was calling, but I think next time I will.

Janice there are noooo words at all for what they are doing to you. i feel horrible for you that they could do such a thing.
the most i can do is offer u a and tell u that if it was me i would have gone off on them already.
i hope it all works out for you.

thanks. I guess people who aren't in bad inlaw shoes have no idea. DH feels guilty when his mother asks him for help. So many others say they would help their parents out no problem. I get along with so many people, I don't understand this relationship at all.
Next time they call, I am going to tell them. I KNOW what they are thinking now though. I don't work and he does. They think they are just as intitled to his money as I am. Its f-ing laughable.
Do you want to know the best? And this is not to knock ANYONE's religion. But MIL and SIL are born agains. I KNOW for a fact that they give to their church, they would not show their faces otherwise. That gets Leo crazy, his money going to pastor whoever.

Thanks for having my back homefry, I need you at thanksgiving. I just need to hear that I am not being selfish. DH did not father SIL's babies. He is a great uncle. We send the bonds throughout the year so the kid will know we cared.

I completely agree!! I think you have every right to pick up the phone next time and tell them enough is enough. What they are doing is just not right.
