Went for my 30wk sono yesterday and the told me the baby is huge!!

They are saying he is weighing in at 4lbs 10oz so far and i have 9 weeks left to go!!!!

My DD was born at 7lbs 14oz so to now possibly have a 9 pound baby is freaking me out..LOL

I know they are not always 100% correct but it is a possibility.

How much did your baby weigh at your last sono??

If my growth sono was correct with DS he would have weighed 8.7lbs.... He was born at 40w weighing 7.4. I wouldn't get too stressed out, these sono have been known to be off

I don't believe the estimates at all. My sister was told her baby was big the entire time and just had a 7.6 baby.

At 31 weeks baby was 3lbs 13oz.

I agree with PP's and I wouldn't go by the sono's they are just estimates.

With my first, my baby was over 5 lbs at 32 weeks!! I know they say that sonos can be off 1 lb in either direction, but for me, I think it was correct. He was born at 37 weeks and he was 9 lbs 7 oz!

At my 32w sono they said DD was a little over 4 lbs. The sono tech estimated a 7 1/2 lb baby. While in the labor the midwife at the hospital estimated 8 lbs. DD was 6 lbs. 14 oz.

When I went last week (at 38wks) she was measuring just about 6lbs. I went back yesterday but he didn't say what the measurement was.

With DD#1 I was induced at 38.5 weeks because they said she was measuring over 8 lbs already.

She was born at 7lbs even.

I don't trust those measurements at all

that does sound big. my DD was born at 33w and was 3lbs 8oz!! she was small for 33w though and measured more like 31w.

At my 30 week sono I was told the baby was measuring about 4lbs. She was born just over 2 weeks later and was 4.5 lbs so I guess it was pretty accurate. She was a definitely a good size for being born when she was.

I don't remember how big Emily was at around that point, but she alwasy measured large. On the Monday before I had my c-section she was measuring 10lbs 3 oz. That Wednesday she was born at 9lbs 10 oz. That is pretty close!

My sister's doc said that her baby was measuring about 7lbs so they proceeded with a regular vaginal delivery and her daughter was 8lbs 13 oz! She ended up needing an episiotomy after over 12 hours of HARD pushing...the head would crown and then once the push was over she'd go back in.....she was just too big to pass!

I do think that they are fairly good estimates, especially if you are getting growth sonos often. But...they are still estimates, and can be off!

With my youngest, I has a sono at 31 weeks & DS was estimated to be around 4lbs 11oz. He was born a week later at 32w5d & was 5lbs 3.6oz. They said if he went to my scheduled section date, he would have been well over 10lvs. Now at 16 months. He is 31lvs 6oz.

at 36 weeks or so DS was & 7lbs 7oz!! But they said the day before I was induced (4 days late) DS was going to be about 8lbs 10oz

DH was like oh thats a good weight....the tech was like ummm that is RIGHT NOW. You have another month to go!

Yea so PS DS was 9lbs 12oz....delivered vaginally! That was the fight of my life!

I don't go by sono weights. The day before I delivered dd I was told she weighed 8lbs10oz. She was 7.0 lbs. I was told the entire time she was measuring large and I was measuring small and I had an average sized baby.

at 26 weeks my tater tot is 2lbs. i'm sure my little man is going to be a small house! lmao

DS was 4 lbs 3 oz at 30 week sono... He was born at 38w1d at 8 lb 15 oz...

Now, DD measured 3 lbs 15 oz at 30 weeks... I go for my 36 week sono next week... we'll see!!!
