Went on a White House tour today, saw Obama board marine 1!! (pic included)
Definitely an amazing experience. My brother is a secret service agent and was able to get us on a tour...which was awesome in itself, but the President was leaving the White House as the tour was going on so they let us on the lawn and watch Marine 1 land...and then he boarded. Such a cool experience!! Not the greatest pic but the best i could take

That's cool though. What were the security measures like when you got in?
I was surprised as well as to how close they let us get. They have a huge roped off section you stand behind on the white house lawn and the helicopter lands so close in front of you...my 2 year old was scared, lol, but the 5 year old loved it..
The security measures are great..they ID you of course (make sure the info matches to the tour request), then you have to go through detectors...then more security once you enter the white house. No bags allowed, only wallets and cell phones. On the white house lawn it was a bit intimidating because there are men with guns ready and armed everywhere. It was so cool though, definitely didn't expect to be able to see him depart. Didn't even know he was in the white house at the time! lol

So cool! We were down for the 4th and every helicopter we saw my ds would scream "Look! It's the President!" 
How'd you get a camera in? When I was looking into tickets (we didn't ask far enough in advance  ) they said no cameras.

How'd you get a camera in? When I was looking into tickets (we didn't ask far enough in advance ) they said no cameras.
It's a cell phone pic! You're allowed to take pics outside the white house, but not inside. They said no video recording but i saw people recording it anyway...we just snapped a bunch of pics.

My 5 year old son LOVED it. He was in awe of the helicopter landing right in front of us (it produces hurricane strength winds, bad for anyone with a toupee ) and he was waving over and over and saying "hello Mr. president!!". He even told people at the restaurant after that he got to see the president..so so cute. My 2 year old would have rather been playing somewhere, but i kinda expected that! lol.

I got to see Bush speak once and then take off in Air Force One.
It was really cool, even though it was him.
